who we are
Healing House of Jasmine is a community organization founded in Montgomery County Maryland. It was founded by two sister survivors of child hood abuse. Our purpose is to involve our community toEmpower, Heal, and Educate survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse.
Our mission is to encourage those in our community that are being victimized to break the silence and help them transition from victim to Survivor.
We carry out this mission in three ways: Empowerment, Healing and Education. We conduct all of our activities within the community through supporting and affirming existing services for survivors to prevent and end violence and abuse.
As we believe there are many ways of healing, we incorporate holistic services that target healing of mind, body and soul, through our variety of extensive workshops including: P31 Career Empowerment, Victory Wellness, and Spiritual Wellness.
About our name
The Jasmine flower is a symbol for beauty, grace and healing recognizedworld wide. We chose this symbol because it mirrors survivors journey towards healing and recovery. Like the Jasmine flower, survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse have lived through darkest of the night. The Jasmine flower displays its strength and beautyby blossomingat midnight. Domestic violence and sexual abuse survivors can rise above the darkness and transition to the light to show their courage, strength, and untouched beauty.
Our goal is to one day provide our own safe haven shelters where survivors can find refuge and healing in our homes. We cant do this alone, come be a part of our journey.
